We decided to cover this song for its 30th anniversary as a way to say that we accept what this song was about when it came out.
It was a protest, a way of living and thought of a generation.
Some of us made it to the present days and now we happily embrace the weirdness and sense of “not-belonging” as part of what we were and what we are now.
Some of us grew up the way we were growing up; bit messy, bit rebellious and now we’re grownups.
So we dropped the distortions and sang Smell Like Teen Spirit as a lullaby, keeping the lyrics but in a different contest, one where we make peace with our teen’s anger accepting what we are.
